Pettis Time On Shelf Extended After Visiting UFC Doctor

All hopes of Anthony Pettis being well enough to face off with Benson Henderson at UFC 164 have been squashed following a visit to a UFC approved Doctor in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The standout lightweight fighter was originally scheduled to face Jose Aldo for the UFC’s featherweight title. However, after an injury, the Milwaukee based athlete was forced to withdraw.

On the advice of his doctors, Pettis was optimistic of a fast turnaround time and started campaigning for a rematch with Benson Henderson in place of TJ Grant at UFC 164.

The UFC’s approved medical practitioners disagreed with the first diagnosis the fighter received and as such, have put him out at least six-weeks.
