Gilbert Melendez fired back at Eddie Alvarez today after Alvarez had quite a strong reaction to Melendez comments that Alvarez had lost the spring in his step.
Melendez fired back at Alvarez via MMAJunkie Radio today saying:
“Lately, I’ve seen him fight, and again, I think he lost his (step), and he’s been off my radar for a while. I have bigger fish to fry right now. I think he’s a good fighter, but he’s off my radar.
“But apparently I’m on his still, so cool. If we cross paths, I’m definitely down to do that.”
Alvarez was recently signed by the UFC after Bellator President Bjorn Rebney released the Bellator lightweight champion. He debuted at #14 on the UFC lightweight rankings, but will have a chance to bump his ranking significantly if he is able to beat Donald Cerrone later this month at UFC 178.
