Medical Suspensions Report: Brown, Silva Out Indefinitely


Eleven fighters from Saturday’s UFC event have received medical suspensions from the Ohio State Athletic Commission.

UFC Fight Night 40 marked the fist time in seven-years The Ultimate Fighting Championship hit ‘The Tri-State’ in Cincinnati Ohio and the show delivered.

Event headliners Matt Brown and Erick Silva put on a memorable performance, but are paying the price today with their indefinite medical suspensions. Both fighters will need to receive medical clearance before they can resume training.

Other medical suspensions from Saturday’s Fox Sports 1 event are as follows:

Matt Brown: Suspended 45 days and suspended indefinitely unless doctor clears elbow
Erick Silva: Suspended 60 days and suspended indefinitely unless doctor clears jaw
Lorenz Larkin: Suspended 60 days
Erik Koch: Suspended 30 days
Ruan Potts: Suspended 60 days
Ed Herman: Suspended 30 days and suspended indefinitely unless doctor clears hand
Eddie Wineland: Suspended 60 days for TKO loss and suspended indefinitely unless doctor clears possible broken jaw
Johnny Eduardo: Suspended 30 days for unsportsmanlike conduct (throwing mouthpiece)
Manny Gamburyan: Suspended indefinitely, needs ophthalmologist to clear right eye
Ben Wall: Suspended 60 days
Anthony Lapsley: Suspended 60 days
