‘What would you do if you were in charge of the UFC?’
It’s an interesting question that resulted in many similar answers from fighters on hand at ‘UFC Fight Night: Dublin’ this past weekend. MMAJunkie caught up with several of the fighters to ask them the million dollar question.
Ben Rothwell: “We gotta take Alistair Overeem out of his fight, and put Ben Rothwell in against Junior Dos Santos.”
Scott Askham: “One decision straight away, it’s a good one, Scott Askham on the main card in London. That’s 100%.”
Jon Delos Reyes: “I don’t know, pay the fighters more. There’s a lot of things I would say, but yeah.”
Darren Till: “This is hard. If I could, I would try and pay the fighters a little bit more money. We don’t need to be making millions, that’s greedy. Obviously I want to be a millionaire. We don’t need to be moaning and saying ‘Agh’ you know? But just a little extra so we don’t have to worry, cause it’s hard. This is all I do, and I could get injured this fight, hopefully not, and be out for a year. That’s me, what do I do? I’ve got no job, I live for this. So to get a little extra money would be nice so I could relax and then train harder and just be like ‘yeah I’ve got that money in the bank, I’m okay. I’m happy’”
Max Holloway: “I would give Max Holloway a title shot. I don’t know, that’s a tough job, I don’t like to think of what I would do in people’s job, I have one job and that’s enough for my brain to handle. So I would get help, I would make people do my job, that’s what I would do. I would hire someone to do my job.”
Neil Seery: “I’d just give myself more money!”
Rory MacDonald: “More money. More money for the fighters.”
