UFC 211: Miocic vs Dos Santos 2 - Extended Preview

The next UFC event on the horizon is UFC 211, a stacked pay-per-view card scheduled for May 13 in Dallas, Texas.

The card will be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between reigning, defending champion Stipe Miocic and former champion Junior Dos Santos. The co-headliner, meanwhile, will see dominant strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk attempt to defend her title for a whopping fifth time against dangerous Brazilian finisher Jessica Andrade.

Miocic will enter this fight on a four-fight streak, having not lost since he gave up a razor thin decision to Dos Santos in late 2014. He rebounded from this loss with a lopsided walloping of the ever-durable Mark Hunt, which culminated in a fifth-round TKO. From there, he picked up a first-round knockout win over the streaking Andrei Arlovski. Next up, he claimed the UFC heavyweight title with a thunderous, first-round knockout over an over aggressive Fabricio Werdum, before defending that title in September with another first-round knockout, this time over Alistair Overeem.

Dos Santos, meanwhile, was last seen in the cage a year ago, when he bludgeoned the streaking Ben Rothwell to a dominant unanimous decision win. This victory separated him from an unfortunate knockout loss to Overeem, which was in turn preceded by his close defeat of Miocic.

Jedrzejczyk will step onto the canvas in Dallas with a perfect, 13-0 record. She won the UFC strawweight title in 2015, smashing inaugural champ Carla Esparza to a second-round TKO. Since then, she has defended that title with a TKO defeat of Jessica Penne, and decision wins over Valerie Letourneau, Claudia Gadelha, and Karolina Kowalkiewicz.

Andrade, finally, will enter the fight having gone 3-0 since dropping from bantamweight to strawweight. In her first fight as a bantamweight, she took Out Jessica Penne with second-round strikes. Next, she scored a first-round submission win over long-time contender Joanne Calderwood. Most recently, she earned her number one contender spot with an action-packed decision win over former Invicta champ Angela Hill.

In advance of this anticipated UFC 211 card, the UFC has released an extended preview for it. Check it out at the top of this article!
