VIDEO | Nate Diaz gets slapped silly at his jiu-jitsu black belt promotion

Ronda Rousey's Trip to the 209: Episode 3

Here’s a classic video for the history books that shows Nate Diaz getting his black belt from his longtime coach Cesar Gracie.

According to bjjee, Diaz was awarded his black belt in 2012 before his fight with Jim Miller at UFC on FOX 3. The younger Diaz brother was given his black belt after 12 years of training.

Nate started when he was just 14-years-old and stated previously that he didn’t have a drive for jiu-jitsu or training. He would only go with older brother Nick because some of the older guys that trained would buy them burritos from a food truck outside the gym because they couldn’t afford any dinner on their own.

While Nate is usually the one handing out the “Stockton slap,” he ends up on the receiving end in this video as he runs the gauntlet of BJJ promotion.

Diaz showed his elite black belt jiu-jitsu technique in his last fight with UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor. Diaz submit McGregor via rear-naked choke in the second round of their non-title welterweight bout at UFC 196.
