Undefeated welterweight Ben Askren has responded to callouts from a number of different UFC Fighters in wake of his potential trade, but it is undefeated UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov who has his attention.

The former ONE and Bellator welterweight title holder, Askren, is apparently very close to being traded by ONE Championship to the UFC in exchange for former flyweight kingpin Demetrious Johnson.

If the deal goes through, Ben Askren already has a plethora of current UFC welterweights who are chomping at the bit to get their hands on him.

“Funky” exchanged words with Mike Perry, Jorge Masvidal, Colby Covington, Darren Till and Alan Jouban today alone on Twitter.

Most recently Askren challenged Khabib Nurmagomedov to a fight at 165-pounds in order to determine the best MMA grappler on planet earth.

Check it out:

“And @TeamKhabib I’ll meet you at 165 to determine the best MMA grappler on planet earth! You just name the time and send location.”

Khabib Nurmagomedov is coming off arguably the biggest win of his mixed martial arts career, defeating former two-division champion Conor McGregor in the main event of UFC 229.

The win improved “The Eagle’s” record to a perfect 27-0, which includes eleven victories under the UFC banner.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is currently suspended by the NSAC, this for his post-fight actions at UFC 229 which resulted in brawls both inside and outside of the octagon.

If a 165-pound super-fight with Askren was put together by the UFC, it would means someone’s zero would have to go.

Like Khabib Nurmagomedov, Ben Askren also holds a perfect record of 18-0 in MMA.

“Funky” was last seen in action in November of 2017, where he defeated MMA legend Shinya Aoki via first-round TKO.

Would you like to see a future fight between Ben Askren and Khabib Nurmagomedov at 165-pounds to determine who is the best MMA grappler on planet earth?
