Though his hype has been somewhat diminished by a handful of Octagon losses, 21-year-old wunderkind Sage Northcutt is still one of the most sought after opponents in the crowded UFC lightweight division. Now riding a two-fight winning streak, he’s got an even bigger target on his back than normal.
The latest fighter to call the Katy, Texas native out is British “Bonecrusher,” Marc Diakiese. Diakiese made his first callout of Northcutt with a short but sweet Tweet.

He then followed up with a hilariously polite Twitter callout, penned in the style of Northcutt himself.
.Hello Mr @sagenorthcutt, super exciting win at the weekend. I’d be super excited to share the Octagon with you, on international fight week?!
Super warm regards, Mr. Diakiese.

As stated above, Northcutt is currently riding two straight victories. The first came via decision opposite Michel Quiñones. His most recent win, meanwhile, occurred last Sunday when he picked up a close but nonetheless impressive win over France’s Thibault Gouti. These wins were preceded by a submission loss to Mickey Gall, a win over Enrique Marin, a loss to Bryan Barberena, and back-to-back wins over Cody Pfister and Francisco Trevino to begin his UFC career. Northcutt is 10-2 in sum.
Diakiese, on the other hand, is 12-2 overall. Since joining the UFC in late 2016, he’s gone 2-2, first defeating Frankie Perez by decision, then snuffing Teemu Packalén with a blistering first-round punch, and most recently losing a decision to Drakkar Close and tapping out to a Dan Hooker guillotine choke.
