Jorge Masvidal fires back at Michael Bisping for predicting he loses

Jorge Masvidal

The UFC’s welterweight division is certainly one of the most stacked divisions in the entire promotion. With no potential shortage of contenders for welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, top ranked welterweights Jorge Masivdal and Demian Maia will square off in a highly anticipated showdown on May 11th at UFC 211. The winner will likely receive a title shot against welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.

With that being said, UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping believes Jorge Masvidal will lose to Demian Maia, and be irrelevant to the present welterweight title picture. That didn’t sit too well with Masvidal, who took to Twitter to express his dissatisfaction.

Masvidal is likely referencing Bisping’s upcoming fight with Georges St-Pierre, who cut Masvidal’s teammate, Yoel Romero, for a middleweight title shot against Michael Bisping.

Of course, Bisping and St-Pierre currently do not have an official date set for their fight despite having already appeared at a press conference for the scrap. As a result of no date being set for the fight, Bisping has threatened to take St-Pierre’s title shot away and give it to Romero:

“If he’s not ready then I guess Yoel Romero gets his title shot! Listen I am not afraid of Yoel Romero. If GSP wants to fight then of course, there is a great storyline there. The fight would do great business. But I am not willing to sit around and he’s not calling the shots. I am the champ.”

“I am not willing to wait a year for Georges St-Pierre to fight me. I might as well do two fights in that one year and still make the same money.”

Needless to say, it doesn’t sound like Masvidal believes that Bisping is serious about giving the middleweight title shot to Yoel Romero over Georges St-Pierre.
