Behind the scenes at UFC's new headquarters

The UFC, as we’re so often reminded, is one of the fastest growing sports organizations in the world. And with the muscle of new owners WME-IMG now pushing it, the promotion is bound to experience even more growth – controversial as some of the new owner’s decisions have been.

The UFC’s recent growth is perfectly exemplified by their new headquarters in Las Vegas. CNN’s Don Riddell was recently given an in-depth tour of this state of the art, 15-acre facility, and as UFC President Dana White puts it, it’s far more suitable as the UFC’s base of operations than the old facility, which was across the street from an In-N-Out Burger.

In this video, White offers up a rundown of the facility’s business-focused features, including several indoor and outdoor meeting spaces, a media room complete with translation tools for foreign media, and a restaurant specializing in healthy, fighter-friendly food. Griffin, meanwhile, sheds some light on the many athlete-oriented features of this new facility, including recovery tools like a hypoxic chamber, a cold tub, and a hot tub, as well as plenty of training space.

“The UFC has become the home team for Vegas,” White said of the promotion’s long-time residence in the city. “There’s all this talk about how hockey’s coming here now, the NFL’s coming here, possibly the NBA, but the UFC has been the home team here for almost 20 years.”

“[The goal of this facility] was to get everything under one roof, where we could do everything right here in the office and never have to leave,” he continued.
