A welterweight bout featuring former lightweight standouts Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone headlined tonight’s UFC 246 event in Las Vegas.
McGregor was returning to the cage for the first time since UFC 229 in October of 2018, where he had suffered a fourth round submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov in his bid to reclaim the promotions lightweight title.
Prior to his setback to ‘The Eagle’, ‘Mystic Mac’ was coming off back-to-back wins over Eddie Alvarez and Nate Diaz respectively.
Meanwhile, Donald Cerrone entered UFC 246 also looking to rebound, this after suffering back-to-back TKO losses to Justin Gaethje and Tony Ferguson in his most recent efforts.
Prior to the skid, ‘Cowboy’ was riding a three-fight win streak, which included victories over Mike Perry, Alexander Hernandez and Al Iaquinta.
Tonight’s UFC 246 main event was all Conor McGregor who put Donald Cerrone away with ground and pound in just 40 seconds, this after dropping ‘Cowboy’ with a head kick.

I like Conor but I don’t see him beating Usman. Usman is huge! He has the range and he’s strong. #UFC246
