A catchweight bout (175-pounds) between Dillon Danis and Max Humphrey took place on the main card of last night’s Bellator 222 event in New York City.
Danis was returning to the cage for the first time since Bellator 198, where he scored a first round victory over Kyle Walker in his mixed martial arts debut.
Dillon Danis had been forced to the sidelines after being suspended by the NSAC for his involvement in the post-fight brawl at UFC 229.
Meanwhile, Max Humphrey entered last night’s contest with an overall record of 3-2. In his most previous effort in August of 2018, Max suffered a 16-second knockout loss.
Dillon Danis was able to get the fight to the ground early in round one and after a few different submission attempts was finally able to lock in a fight-ending armbar in the final seconds of the opening frame.
The win improved Danis’ record to an a perfect 2-0.
While Danis made it look easy at Bellator 222, not all of his peers were that impressed.

The idea of feeding guys opponents with bad records in major promotions is hurtful to my eyes . I want to watch a fight at least thinking the other guy has a chance to win …
