Sage Northcutt (9-2) is known for his incredible politeness. In a hilarious promo for this Sunday’s UFC Austin card, however, we’re given a taste of what it would be like if the 21-year-old talent cussed like Conor McGregor or Nate Diaz. Watch this bleep-filled Sage Northcutt promo in above.
Northcutt’s opponent in Austin will be France’s Thibault Gouti (12-3). In this fight, Northcutt will look to build on the momentum of a November unanimous decision win over Michel Quiñones. This win was preceded by a tough, second-round submission loss to fellow prospect Mickey Gall.
Northcutt’s foe Thibault Gouti last fought in September, when he authored an impressive first round TKO over Andrew Holbrook. This win was preceded by three-straight stoppage losses to Teemu Packalén, Olivier Aubin-Mercier and Chad Laprise.
The UFC’s return to Austin will be headlined by a welterweight fire fight between action fighters Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and Yancy Medeiros. This bout will serve as Cowboy’s opportunity to rebound from consecutive losses to Jorge Masvidal, Robbie Lawler and most recently, Darren Till. Medeiros, meanwhile, will look to build on the momentum of three-straight stoppage wins over Sean Spencer, Erick Silva, and Alex “Cowboy” Oliveira.
The UFC Austin co-headliner will occur at heavyweight, where Texas local Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis will attempt to rebound from a tough loss to Mark Hunt opposite Polish talent Marcin Tybura. Tybura will be looking to return to winning ways after a decision loss to former champion Fabricio Werdum.
As specified at the top of this post, this Austin card will occur on Sunday – not the usual Saturday. Plan your weekend accordingly, fight fans!
