A featherweight bout between Kron Gracie and Alex Caceres took place on the main card of tonight’s UFC Phoenix event.
Kron Gracie, who is the son of legendary Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ace Rickson Gracie, will enter tonight’s fight with Caceres sporting a perfect professional record of 4-0.
The 30-year-old, Gracie, has not competed in mixed martial arts since defeating Tatsuya Kawajiri via second-round submission under the RIZIN banner in December of 2016.
As for Alex Caceres, “Bruce Leeroy” is coming off a split-decision victory over Martin Bravo which occurred at the TUF 27 Finale this past July.
Round one begins and Gracie takes the center of the octagon. Caceres circles along the outside. Gracie scores with a punch. Caceres continues to circle and fires off a combination. Gracie shoots in and presses him up against the cage. Kron takes the back of Alex and locks in a hook while standing. He takes Caceres to the floor and locks in a body triangle. This is not good for “Bruce Leeroy”. Kron Gracie locks in a rear-naked choke. This is tight. He forces Alex to tapout. Wow. First round finish for Kron Gracie in his octagon debut.
