Former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum took to social media to call out Aleksei Oleinik for his return to the Octagon later this year.

Oleinik picked up a beautiful submission win by armbar over Maurice Greene on the UFC 246 pay-per-view card. Werdum was watching the event and afterward took to his Twitter to call Oleinik out.

Here’s what Werdum wrote.

“Congratulations @oleynikufc all my respect for you BUT I think my JiuJitsu it’s better, let’s dance you can be my special guest for my return in the UFC”

Werdum recently saw his USADA suspension for performance-enhancing drugs get reduced and he will be eligible to return to the Octagon in April 2020. When he comes back he will immediately jump back into the fray as one of the top heavyweights on the UFC roster.

A matchup pitting Werdum against Oleinik would feature two of the greatest heavyweight grapplers of all time going up against one another. Werdum is known for his incredible upset submission win over Fedor Emelianenko in Strikeforce a decade ago, and he also defeated Cain Velasquez via submission to win the UFC heavyweight title.

As for Oleinik, he has 46 wins in his long career via tapout. If this fight were to happen, the winner could very well be considered the greatest heavyweight grappler of all time, though other submission-based fighters like Frank Mir and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira would obviously have something to say about that.

Werdum last competed at UFC London in March 2018 when he was knocked out by Alexander Volkov. His last win came at UFC Fight Night Sydney in November 2017 when he won a unanimous decision over Marcin Tybura. As for Oleinik, the win over Greene snapped a two-fight losing skid, having lost to Walt Harris and Alistair Overeem by knockout in those two outings.
