Darren Till is keeping a low profile.

Following his recent arrest in Spain for allegedly trashing a hotel room and stealing a taxi, the former UFC welterweight title challenger has deactivated both his personal Twitter and Instagram accounts. The 26-year-old didn’t serve any time or face any serious legal issues for the incident. However he did receive a heavy fine which included €10,000 ($11,150 USD) to the Costa Adeje hotel, €480 ($525 USD) for hotel damages and €360 ($401 USD) for theft of the taxi cab.

“The Gorilla” had a massive following on both of his social media accounts with around 100,000 followers on Twitter and close to 650,000 followers on Instagram.

Darren Till (17-2-1) has had a rough stretch over the last six months. In September, the Liverpool native suffered his first professional loss in a lopsided welterweight title fight against Tyron Woodley at UFC 228. Last month, Till was knocked out for the first time in his career against Jorge Masvidal at UFC London with “Gamebread” finishing him in the second round.

Prior to these setbacks, Till had amassed a 17-0-1 record, including wins over former title challengers Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson and Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone. Since signing with the UFC in 2015, the former welterweight contender has amassed a 5-2-1 record with the Las Vegas based promotion.

This isn’t the first time Till has had a run in with the law. In 2012 he was stabbed twice at a party in England and was sent to Brazil by the request of his coach to keep him out of trouble. Then in 2018, Till also appeared to be involved brawl outside a night club.

Darren Till doesn’t currently have his next fight scheduled yet and there has been no update about him potentially moving up to the middleweight division.
