On June 17, the UFC will return to Asia with UFC Singapore. The promotion has been sure to stack this Asian return with some excellent fights.
In the UFC Singapore main event, we’ll see former UFC women’s bantamweight champ and recent featherweight title challenger Holly Holm take on former bantamweight title challenger Bethe Correia. The bout will mark Holm’s opportunity to rebound from three-straight losses to Miesha Tate, Valentina Shevchenko and Germaine de Randamie. Correia, meanwhile, will look to rebound from a razor-thin draw with Marion Reneau.
In the co-main event of the evening, we’ll see former UFC lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos abandon the gruelling cut to 155 in favor of a fresh start at welterweight. His opponent will be former Strikeforce champion Tarec Saffiedine. The fight will be Dos Anjos’ chance to rebound from consecutive losses to Eddie Alvarez and Tony Ferguson, while Saffiedine will attempt to bounce back from back-to-back decision losses to Rick Story and Dong Hyun Kim.
The card will also feature a compelling welterweight battle between Colby Covington and South Korean star Dong Hyun Kim. Kim will look to build on the momentum of defeats of Joshua Burkman, Dominic Waters, and Saffiedine, while Covington will look to build on the momentum of defeats of Jonathan Meunier, Max Griffin, and Bryan Barberena.
This Singapore return will also be highlighted by a heavyweight clash between former champ Andrei Arlovski and Polish prospect Marcin Tybura, a lightweight bout between Takanori Gomi and Jon Tuck, and a flyweight bout between Ulka Sasaki and Justin Scoggins.
