After Rafael dos Anjos withdrew from his UFC 196 lightweight title fight against Conor McGregor on Tuesday, there was much speculation as to who would step in to fight Conor McGregor.
Donald Cerrone was the first person to offer to fill in for dos Anjos, and even began starting to cut weight in anticipation of getting the fight.
Ultimately the UFC gave the fight to Nate Diaz, and moved the fight from lightweight to welterweight.
dos Anjos took to Twitter to question why McGregor ended up fighting Diaz instead of ‘Cowboy’ when Cerrone was fresh off a fight camp.
Why 🍟🍔Gregor didn't pick Cerrone to fight!? He loves some out of shape with 10 days notice like Mendez. Want 2 belts? Gotta beat me👊🏾💥👊🏾
