UFC fighter flagged by USADA, won’t face suspension

News surfaced this week that ‘Ultimate Fighter: China’ winner
Ning Guangyou failed a drug test for Clanbuterol. The failed drug test stems from a random out-of-competition drug test back in May.

Interestingly enough, Guangyou will not be suspended for the infraction given that since 2011, WADA has been aware that failed drug tests for Clanbuterol are generally the result of tainted meat in China and Mexico.

The UFC released a statement on the situation, which was obtained by MMAFighting, saying:

In late July, UFC was made aware of USADA’s investigation into the source of the prohibited substance clenbuterol in an out of competition sample collected from Ning Guangyou. Given it was initially unclear as to the timing of the resolution of the investigation, UFC made the decision to move Guangyou’s scheduled bout against Marlon Vera on August 20, 2016 at UFC 202 to UFC Fight Night: Maia vs. Condit in Vancouver, BC on August 27, 2016.
