A light heavyweight bout between Jimi Manuwa and Aleksandar Rakic served as the co-headliner of today’s UFC Stockholm event.
Jimi Manuwa (17-6 MMA) enters tonight’s contest in desperate need of a win. The ‘Poster Boy’ is coming off three straight setbacks, his most recent being a knockout loss to Thiago Santos at December’s UFC 231 event in Toronto. Manuwa has gone 6-5 in his eleven career fights under the UFC banner.
Meanwhile, Aleksandar Rakic (12-1 MMA) will enter tonight’s co-main event on a ten-fight win streak. In his most recent effort at UFC 231, Rakic scored a first-round TKO victory over Devin Clark. The 27-year-old has gone 3-0 during his short but promising UFC career.
Round one begins and Manuwa takes the center of the octagon. He fires off a low kick. Rakic responds with one of his own. Manuwa looks to counter with a left hook that just misses. Rakic with another low kick. He comes forward with a combination that ends in a head kick. That connects flush and Jimi Manuwa is out cold! What a win for Aleksandar Rakic!
