Bethe Correia calls out Miesha Tate: Any weight, anytime, anywhere

Bethe Correia

This past weekend, Bethe Correia made her successful return to the Octagon on the preliminary card of UFC 203, where she defeated Jessica Eye via split decision.

The win put Correia in the win column once again, snapping her 2-fight losing streak that saw her get KOd by Ronda Rousey in the main event of UFC 190, and then drop a split decision to Raquel Pennington earlier this year.

Following the win, Corriea, who is now ranked at #10 on the UFC’s official women’s bantamweight rankings, called for a fight with former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate, who recently lost her belt to Amanda Nunes at UFC 200.

She spoke to Combate:

“There’s one person I have some business I need to take care of, and I want to take care of it, who is Miesha Tate. It’s someone who’s always on my mind. She started talking trash to me on social media and campaigned on Twitter to fight me. She was the first one to criticize when they announced my fight with Ronda Rousey. She said I didn’t deserve it and made fun of me.

When I lost, she made fun of the way I lost. It’s something I have stuck in my throat until this day. I really want to fight her and make her feel like a newcomer. I’ll be different when I fight her. I would fight her at a catchweight, on the prelims, main card and any event, even in her own backyard. Just the two of us, if she wants to, just so she can see I’m better than her.”

Tate has been out of action since losing her belt to Amanda Nunes back in July. While there has been no word in regards to when she will return to the Octagon, would you like to see a fight between ‘Cupcake’ and Correia?
