Newly crowned bantamweight champ T.J. Dillashaw would potentially be willing to fight mentor and Team Alpha Male founder Urijah Faber if the UFC is willing to shell out the cash.<\/p>\n

Dillashaw had the following to say about Faber and what he has done to help Dillashaw’s career on a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a good dude. You saw after he lost to Renan Barao, that quick stoppage, that he was willing to give my name a shout-out while one of the worst things that can happen to you. It shows his great character. That\u2019s tough for me because I\u2019ve looked up to the guy. I\u2019ve copied him. I\u2019ve done a lot of stuff for my career because of him. It\u2019s going to be tough if that situation ever comes up. I don\u2019t want to have to fight the guy. He\u2019s brought me up in the sport. But, you know. I owe a lot to him for where I\u2019m at.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Dillashaw went on to say:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve done every day of practice under Urijah. For four years now I\u2019ve been at Urijah\u2019s gym nonstop. I haven\u2019t gone anywhere else to train for an extended period of time. I\u2019ve been there. It\u2019s going to be tough. We\u2019re good friends. We\u2019re family. Everyone in that gym, we\u2019ve created a little family to where you\u2019ve got that guy\u2019s back,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou saw how crazy they went when I won the belt. What made me tear up more than winning the belt is going back and watching Fight Pass and seeing those guys react to me winning. It\u2019s a crazy situation that we could be put in, but they want the drama behind the fights. Hey, if they\u2019re willing to shell out the cash maybe me and Urijah will have a smile on our face while fighting,\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
