Good things come to those who wait. And even better things come to those who earn those good things. This is the story for Daniel Straus, a Bellator fighter (21 wins, 4 losses \u2013 7-1 in BFC) who has not only been looking to avenge an early loss in his career, but also wants to see some newly-shined gold wrapped around his waist.<\/p>\n

Straus takes on current champion Pat Curran on Saturday, November 2nd 2013, in Bellator\u2019s Featherweight tilt that was recently changed from pay-per-view to a free event due to an injured Tito Ortiz pulling out of the main event. This change in plans will certainly have more eyeballs on the aggressive veteran, who is ready to show both fans and the Bellator management, that he\u2019s not only ready to build a firm legacy at 145 lbs., but can do it by unseating the nearly-indestructible Pat Curran.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s no doubt Straus has been waiting for this chance. \u201cThis is a huge opportunity,\u201d said a confident Straus when asked by BJPENN.COM’s Fist-Ta-Cuff Radio, \u201cI definitely earned this. To earn something and to wait so long for it\u2026it gets you hyped. The longer I\u2019m waiting, the worse the a**-whoopin\u2019 is gonna be.\u201d<\/p>\n

Curran, too, has been waiting for Straus, who broke his right hand before getting another shot at the title at Bellator 95 in April. Both fighters have been looking to lock horns in cage, knowing it could determine if the champ is still superior, or if Straus has finally got his number.<\/p>\n

When asked about his preparation for Curran, Straus said, \u201cI\u2019ve watched him for a while. I think we both have had our eyes on each other for a long time\u2026with that being said, to sit out so long, and to get to watch all of the things he do(es), and prepare, it motivates you. It keeps you focused. You never want to lose sight of the big picture \u2013 and the big picture is winning that belt.\u201d<\/p>\n

When it comes to revenge, nothing could be sweeter than not only avenging a former loss, but winning the Bellator Featherweight belt in the process. And that\u2019s exactly what Straus intends to do.
