{"id":56058,"date":"2013-04-05T10:15:15","date_gmt":"2013-04-05T17:15:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/?p=56058"},"modified":"2022-02-06T13:11:30","modified_gmt":"2022-02-06T21:11:30","slug":"diaz-camp-formally-requests-drug-testing-details-from-quebec-commission","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/ufcnews\/diaz-camp-formally-requests-drug-testing-details-from-quebec-commission\/","title":{"rendered":"Diaz Camp Formally Requests Drug Testing Details From Quebec Commission"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Nick-Diaz.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-54246\" title=\"Nick Diaz\" src=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Nick-Diaz.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"390\" height=\"270\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nUFC 158 has come and gone, but in typical Nick Diaz fashion the media and fans are forced to still talk about it.<\/p>\n<p>La R\u00e9gie des alcools des courses et des jeux (RACJ), the athletic commission in Quebec, confirmed yesterday that they tested six UFC 158 competitors for banned substances.<\/p>\n<p>They would not release the names of the six-tested fighters, however the commission did confirm that they didn&#8217;t find any positive results from the competitors.<\/p>\n<p>The Diaz camp has decided that that&#8217;s just not good enough and they want more answers.<\/p>\n<p>In a report from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mmaweekly.com\/nick-diaz-camp-reveals-he-was-drug-tested-at-ufc-158-requests-more-info-from-commission\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MMAWeekly<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><em>Jonathan Tweedale, a representative of Nick Diaz\u2019s camp, however, revealed to MMAWeekly.com that Diaz was one of the six.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Not only did Tweedale confirm that Diaz was tested and produced negative results, but added that Diaz\u2019s camp is requesting further information from the Quebec commission.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Mr. Diaz\u2019s sample tested negative. We have now requested from the Quebec Commission (the Regie):<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>1) A copy of the Regie\u2019s request to the laboratory specifying which substances the lab was asked to test the sample for (if any), and<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>2) A copy of any documents received from the lab conducting the drug testing showing the precise test results for Mr. Diaz for all substances the sample was actually tested for.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Tweedale would not elaborate on why they requested further information from the commission, but it should be noted that Diaz\u2019s camp has already challenged the RACJ over its handling of the UFC 158 weigh-ins.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The Diaz camp stated that the RACJ relaxed its own rules for the main event, in particular, because Georges St-Pierre was involved.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe Quebec Commission deliberately relaxed the rule (regarding a bout\u2019s contracted weight) in this case and, by its own admission, allowed their home-town fighter to \u2018make weight\u2019 even if he weighed more than the contracted weight,\u201d Tweedale noted in an earlier statement to MMAWeekly.com regarding the controversial weigh-in situation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>St-Pierre won the five-round championship fight by unanimous decision.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UFC 158 has come and gone, but in typical Nick Diaz fashion the media and fans are forced to still talk about it.
