The three-round barn burner earned &#8220;Fight of the Night&#8221; honors and raised the stocks of both men. In the end, it was Chimaev who picked up the unanimous decision victory.<\/p>\n<p>The two have had mutual respect since that bout, and have expressed interest in mixing it up again. In fact, Chimaev recently took to social media to throw out the possibility of fighting &#8220;Durinho&#8221; again.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;If Alex not ready to be killed, let&#8217;s do it again in Brazil, 84 kg this time,&#8221; Chimaev said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Burns was quick to respond to Chimaev on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/gilbertdurinho\/status\/1594113201297317891?s=46&amp;t=boybtzuXXNoeBY87bSs5LQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Any weight,&#8221; Burns said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Back in July, Chimaev admitted to Ariel Helwani on &#8220;The MMA Hour&#8221; that he felt he didn&#8217;t fight smart against Burns.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em>\u201cGilbert Burns was like one of the guys \u2014 his style is so hard for me to fight because he\u2019s short, he\u2019s grappler, you know? I\u2019m wrestler, I\u2019m boxer, but my boxing is going better when it\u2019s guys that are taller like me, not short,\u201d Chimaev said. \u201cBut I took that fight, I won that fight, now I fight with that guy [Nate Diaz].\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em>\u201cI hope one day I fight again with him,\u201d Chimaev said. \u201cI was a little bit stupid in that fight, just going forward, I didn\u2019t work my footwork, I didn\u2019t show my boxing skills.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em>\u201cNo, my coach [wants me to watch that fight]. I don\u2019t want to watch. I want to fight.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>While Gilbert Burns said he&#8217;d fight Khamzat Chimaev at any weight, he told MMAJunkie that Chimaev should <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/ufc\/gilbert-burns-explains-why-he-hopes-khamzat-chimaev-will-remain-at-welterweight-hes-just-got-to-man-up\/\">find a way to remain at welterweight<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI hope so,&#8221; Burns said. &#8220;I know a lot of guys were celebrating that he\u2019s going up. No, I want him to stay at 170. I think he can stay, just got to be disciplined, (but) it\u2019s not just discipline. If you sign a contract and you put your name on it, you sign it, you gotta own it.
