However, because he missed weight by half a pound, Oliveira was forced to vacate the title and was ineligible to take it home despite defeating &#8216;The Highlight&#8217; that evening in Phoenix.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Islam Makhachev will enter Saturday&#8217;s UFC 280 main event sporting a ten-fight winning streak, his latest being a first-round TKO victory over <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/bobby-green\/bobby-greens-sudden-removal-from-the-ufc-roster-has-mma-fans-freaking-out\/\">Bobby Green<\/a> this past February. The Russian&#8217;s lone loss came back at UFC 192 in October of 2015, where he was TKO&#8217;d by Adriano Martins.<\/p>\n<p>Despite having defeated the likes of Dustin Poirier, Michael Chandler and Justin Gaethje in his most recent efforts, Charles Oliveira is currently listed as a +170 underdog for his title fight with Islam Makhachev -190.<\/p>\n<p>For rising UFC star Paddy Pimblett, those odds don&#8217;t make any sense and he expects that &#8216;Do Bronx&#8217; will prove the oddsmakers wrong on Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI cannot believe he\u2019s the underdog,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=91NM_7FIiHI&amp;list=PLFzlAuXcb7PJp4TO7H4rzlpLDLLFlISw9\">Pimblett said on his YouTube channel<\/a>\u00a0(h\/t <a href=\"https:\/\/mmajunkie.usatoday.com\/2022\/10\/ufc-280-paddy-pimblett-puzzled-charles-oliveira-underdog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MMAJunkie<\/a>). <em>\u201cI just don\u2019t understand it. The people who he\u2019s finished in a row, what he\u2019s done to Tony (Ferguson), I don\u2019t understand how he\u2019s the underdog. Like I\u2019m trying to be fair, you know what I mean.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Pimblett continued:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI like Charles to win. He\u2019s one of my favorite fighters to watch. He\u2019s brilliant. But I\u2019ve seen him in an interview saying he\u2019ll knock him out in one. If it goes to decision, it\u2019s Makhachev. And if it\u2019s going to be a finish, it\u2019s going to be Charles. I\u2019m going with Charles personally. I just think he\u2019s fought a higher caliber of opponents.
