Former dual-weight UFC champion Henry Cejudo is once again considering retirement.<\/p>\n

‘Triple C’ has been out of action since his win over Dominick Cruz<\/a> at UFC 249 in May 2020. Following the victory, Cejudo laid down his gloves in the octagon and stated he wanted to retire. The retirement seemed legitimate for most fans, until he gave his post-fight press conference.<\/p>\n

In the post-fight presser, the then-bantamweight champion admitted that for the right price, he would return. The UFC didn’t seem interested in playing ball with Cejudo, who was stripped not long after. For two years, the former champion sat on the sidelines.<\/p>\n

However, earlier this year, Henry Cejudo announced his intentions to return. He enrolled himself into the USADA pool and called for a fight against Alexander Volkanovski<\/a>. A win over ‘The Great’ would make Cejudo the only fighter in UFC history to win gold in three different weight classes.<\/p>\n

It appears that fight is off the table, as the UFC featherweight champion has announced his intentions to move to lightweight. With Volkanovski out of the picture, Cejudo has admitted on his YouTube channel that he is once again debating retirement.<\/p>\n

\"Henry<\/p>\n

\u201c[I\u2019m] a little pissed, a little down, I guess you could say it,\u201d Cejudo stated on his YouTube channel. \u201cIt just only gives me one option. Maybe I could fight Alexander in Australia? That\u2019s the only thing that I could think of. And if it is meant to be that I\u2019ll never fight again for that reason if they\u2019re just gonna stall me out like that then that\u2019s all there is to it.” (h\/t MMA Mania<\/em><\/a>)<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m satisfied,\u201d he continued. \u201cI\u2019m full with my career. Me making a comeback was just to make history. Like yeah, I did talk a lot of s\u2014t to Dana [White]. But I still respect the crap out of [him]. Even if I never ever fight again. I just want you to know that from the bottom of my heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, Henry Cejudo also admitted that he would be willing to take an alternate fight at featherweight in the meantime. That alternate fight would be a showdown with Max Holloway<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201c[A Max Holloway fight] would be the only fight prior to a Volkanovski fight [I\u2019d take]. Like, hey, man, just give me the biggest, baddest dude that people think that he can beat me that I\u2019d like to prove myself with. Other than that, I don\u2019t want to fight Yair [Rodriguez]. I love that dude, he\u2019s got a lot of good talent, I don\u2019t want to fight a lot of these guys. I want to fight the best, I want to prove myself. If I go the Holloway route, I\u2019m up for that.\u201d<\/p>\n
