Theodorou was always viewed as a bright, bubbly member of the mixed martial arts community, and he was able to find success in the Octagon that included winning his season of The Ultimate Fighter.<\/p>\n<p>Elias was often described as a man who would give you the shirt off of his back and in his final months, he made a point to try and fight for better access to medical cannabis for the chronically ill.<\/p>\n<p>The following statement was released by his family following the devastating news.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A statement from the family of Elias Theodorou:<\/p>\n<p>(they ask that friends and fans share their favourite Elias memories with the following hashtags: <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ripeliastheodorou?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#ripeliastheodorou<\/a> &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/InLovingMemoryElias?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#InLovingMemoryElias<\/a>) <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/3vAx1YoXOL\">pic.twitter.com\/3vAx1YoXOL<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Aaron Bronsteter (@aaronbronsteter) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/aaronbronsteter\/status\/1569456798297632768?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 12, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cElias \u201cThe Spartan\u201d Theodorou answered his final bell yesterday, September 11th, 2022.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cHe passed peacefully at home with his family and loved ones in his corner after a hard-fought fight with colon cancer that metastasized.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cHe faced his end as he lived his life eternally, irrationally, and infectiously optimistic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cIt\u2019s impossible to capture every facet or all of his accomplishments in a simple post so to \u201cmake it a long story short\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThere will be a public viewing from 5-9pm Wednesday, September 14th at Vescios Funeral Home, 8101 Weston Road in Woodbridge, Ontario.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cIn lieu of flowers please donate to Elias\u2019 two foundations, Theodorou Foundation &amp; Higher Access.
