Danny Sabatello is not happy that the\u00a0Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation has fined him $5k for swearing in his post-fight interview.<\/p>\n

After Sabatello earned a one-sided decision win over Leandro Higo, he swore in his post-fight interview which is common<\/a> for Sabatello. He even mentioned in the post-fight interview that he may be fined.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was told if I swore in my post-fight interview, I might get fined,\u201d Sabatello said. \u201cSo it\u2019s a good thing I don\u2019t give a f***! I just beat an absolute animal, and not one of you is going to do s***! You want to do something? Come in here right now and do something.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now,\u00a0MMAFighting<\/a> learned that Sabatello indeed was fined for swearing. MTDAR President Mike Mazzulli cited Rule 21 of the MMA Unified Rules, which prohibits \u201cuse of abusive language in the fighting area.\u201d Sabatello may appeal the decision, Mike Mazzulli added.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said just be respectful of the sport, that\u2019s all I ask, and don\u2019t push,\u201d Mazzulli said about Sabatello. \u201cYou heard him standing there saying, \u2018I\u2019m going to get fined, but I don\u2019t care.\u2019 So he got fined.\u201d<\/p>\n

Danny Sabatello was then informed of the fine in a live interview on The MMA Hour where he did not hold back on his thoughts. He believes getting fined for that is f******g bulls**t. Yet, the fine won’t stop him from being who he is and he plans on still swearing in his next post-fight interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, that\u2019s f******g bulls**t. That\u2019s such f*****g bulls**t. But you know what, I don\u2019t care. If I fight there again, I\u2019m telling you right now, I\u2019m going to do the same s***. You can keep f****** fining me,” Sabatello said. “Nothing is going to deter me from being myself, and also, it wouldn\u2019t do justice to the fans. I want the fans to understand exactly who they\u2019re dealing with. That\u2019s who I am. That\u2019s my personality. Fine me. I don\u2019t give a f**k. It\u2019s just money.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sabatello improved to 13-1 with the win over Leandro Higo at Bellator 282. He is now 3-0 in Bellator with wins over Jornel Lugo and Brett Johns. He also beat Taylor Moore by decision on the Contender Series in 2020 but did not get a contract from the UFC. Sabatello is now set to fight Raufeon Stots for the interim bantamweight title his next time out.<\/p>\n
