Recovery from the surgery is estimated to take up to nine months.<\/p>\n<p>Francis Ngannous&#8217; contract negotiations are currently at a standstill with the UFC. Apparently it&#8217;s not all about the money, it&#8217;s also about the terms of the contract.<\/p>\n<p>Francis has spoken in the past about a career in boxing saying:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cBoxing is always in the back of my pocket,\u201d<\/em> said Ngannou. <em>\u201cIt\u2019s something I must do before the end of my career.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_404219\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-404219\" style=\"width: 696px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-404219\" src=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Francis-Ngannou-Dana-White-1.jpg\" alt=\"Francis Ngannou, Dana White\" width=\"696\" height=\"399\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Francis-Ngannou-Dana-White-1.jpg 696w, https:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Francis-Ngannou-Dana-White-1-300x172.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-404219\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(via Zuffa LLC)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8216;The Eagle&#8217; believes Ngannou should follow the money.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov spoke with &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.skysports.com\/mma\/news\/12028\/12542660\/khabib-nurmagomedov-on-tyson-fury-vs-francis-ngannou-boxing-vs-mma-and-his-transition-from-fighter-to-promoter-with-eagle-fc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Sky Sports<\/a>&#8216; about the potential of a Fury vs Ngannou crossover fight:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIf they fight in the UFC yeah, Fury doesn\u2019t have too many chances,\u201d <\/em>Nurmagomedov said (<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/sport\/4694866\/khabib-warns-tyson-fury-francis-ngannou-ufc-fight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">h\/t The Sun<\/a><\/em>).<em> \u201cBut in boxing, I don\u2019t see anyone even touching his face\u2014maybe Oleksandr Usyk. Usyk is going to be a tough challenge for Fury. But Ngannou? I think he has to stay with the UFC. But if he goes to boxing and he\u2019s making 50 or 60 million dollars\u2014 he has to. Why not?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI know Ngannou comes from a very, very poor life in Africa. He was with no money, no home, nothing.
