In the immediate aftermath he decided to call out current welterweight king Kamaru Usman, prompting a mixed response from mixed martial arts fans across the board.<\/p>\n<p>Then, in recent days, he&#8217;s opted to <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/ufc\/belal-muhammad-calls-out-khamzat-chimaev-following-ufc-vegas-45-win-over-stephen-thompson\/\">go after<\/a> Khamzat Chimaev by suggesting he&#8217;d be more than willing to take a fight against &#8220;Borz&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, he expanded on his thought process.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Belal Muhammad: Beating Khamzat Chimaev is worth more than anybody ranked\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_JPAYMXfrBI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cIt makes sense for anybody in the division,\u201d Muhammad said. \u201cHe has the most hype in the division right now. He has that (Conor) McGregor X-factor stardom right now, where the fans think he\u2019s untouchable. The boss thinks he\u2019s untouchable. They all think it\u2019s just a matter of time before he becomes champion. So for me, if I beat him, I steal all of his hype, and I think it\u2019s worth more than beating anybody ranked in the division. Beating him is probably worth more than beating Colby Covington just because of all the\u00a0hype he has right now.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cSo in this game, it\u2019s about momentum, it\u2019s about hype, and it\u2019s about who\u2019s hot right now. He\u2019s the hottest right now. So beating him, I steal all that shine. I steal all that heat, so why wouldn\u2019t I?
