He finished off his career with a stint in Bellator, and ever since retiring in 2019, Sonnen has been incredibly open about his previous use of performance-enhancing drugs during his mixed martial arts career.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=OpP3C8VkJJk&amp;t=1s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube<\/a> channel, <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/ufc\/tj-dillashaw-claims-he-did-not-benefit-from-previous-ped-use-promises-to-be-a-fcking-animal-in-ufc-return\/\">Sonnen spoke about PEDs ahead of TJ Dillashaw&#8217;s return to the Octagon this Saturday at UFC Vegas 32<\/a>. Dillashaw hasn&#8217;t fought in over two years since testing positive for EPO, the same substance that former cycling star Lance Armstrong tested positive for. According to Sonnen, EPO was his favorite drug during his MMA career because it gave him better cardio and the ability to push harder in training.<\/p>\n<p id=\"OSDPYk\">\u201cEPO, of all the performance enhancers, I will tell you, personal experience here. I\u2019m an expert in performance enhancers \u2014 for all the wrong reasons \u2014 but an expert nonetheless. EPO, without question, is my favorite,\u201d Chael Sonnen said (h\/t <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloodyelbow.com\/2021\/7\/22\/22588296\/it-did-not-help-dillashaw-downplays-epo-use-but-expert-sonnen-reveals-benefits-of-favorite-ped\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BloodyElbow.com<\/a>). \u201cI felt I\u2019ve taken everything. I\u2019ve gone into GNC\u2019s or health stores and tried everything on the shelf on the off chance that something would work \u2014 and it doesn\u2019t. They\u2019re all junk. None of that stuff anywhere on those shelves works. But the same is true with performance enhancements, you\u2019re not going to get a bump on all of them.<\/p>\n<p id=\"HyMOgC\">\u201c(EPO) directly affects your cardiovascular output. It\u2019s not going to make you bigger, it\u2019s not going to make you leaner, it\u2019s not going to make you stronger. It\u2019s going to give you more endurance A guy that takes EPO, particularly in training, can now just train longer,\u201d Sonnen said. \u201cHe can hit the bag that many times more.
