They never do any good for them.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Diego Sanchez took to social media where he shared the following post entitled &#8220;<em>Smoking Gun conversation with UFC Lawyer<\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/tv\/COTOeQjjHrQ\/<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;<\/em><span class=\"\"><em>Smoking Gun conversation with UFC Lawyer. Listen to it for yourself&#8230; None of this is normal fans, friends, family, fighters and casuals&#x1f64f;&#x1f3fc;&#8221;<\/em> &#8211; Sanchez captioned the post.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to the post, the conversation took place on April 9 and included UFC <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mmanews\/dana-white-reacts-after-push-delivered-by-jeremy-stephens-to-drakkar-klose-results-in-ufc-fight-cancellation\/\">matchmaker Sean Shelby<\/a> as well as the promotions chief legal officer Hunter Campbell.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe direct quote I received was, you stated that the quote \u2018long-term effects of Diego being an MMA fighter\u2019 were your basis for requesting it,\u201d<\/em> Campbell said to Fabia on the call (via <a href=\"https:\/\/mmajunkie.usatoday.com\/2021\/04\/joshua-fabia-leaked-phone-call-ufc-hunter-campbell-diego-sanchez-medical-release\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MMAJunkie<\/a>). <em>\u201cSo I went through this with (former UFC fighter) Mark Hunt, and here\u2019s the reality: If you\u2019re concerned or (Sanchez is) concerned that he\u2019s having negative effects, then we\u2019re not going to fight him and I\u2019m going to pull the fight right now and we\u2019re going to call it a day and we\u2019ll release him and he can go do something else with his life, because I\u2019m not putting anybody in that cage that doesn\u2019t feel 100 percent or thinks they\u2019re suffering from any medical issues.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Joshua Fabia then defended his previous request which had clearly raised red flags with UFC officials.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWell, it has more to do with how is his physical body, and all the treatments that he\u2019s had over 17 years of injuries in his hands, his face, and all over his body that I\u2019m referring to,\u201d<\/em> Fabia said. <em>\u201cIf he needs medical attention after his career, how is he supposed to move on without medical records? That\u2019s what I\u2019m concerned about. That\u2019s all it is. If he has to go see another doctor about his hip or his back or any of these things, how is that doctor \u2013 why would we have to pay for new imaging, new everything, when it should be on file? I don\u2019t understand what the problem is.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-284675\" src=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/wp-content\/uploads\/Diego-Sanchez.png\" alt=\"Diego Sanchez\" width=\"696\" height=\"399\" srcset=\"https:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/wp-content\/uploads\/Diego-Sanchez.png 696w, https:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/wp-content\/uploads\/Diego-Sanchez-300x172.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hunter Campbell then replied with the following directions:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHere\u2019s what I\u2019m going to do: I\u2019m going to send an email to you guys,\u201d<\/em> Campbell said. <em>\u201cI\u2019m going to express my concerns. I need a confirmation in writing that he\u2019s physically able to compete, he\u2019s not suffered any ill effects of being an MMA fighter, he doesn\u2019t feel like he has any brain issues or cognitive issues. I\u2019ve got to go through the whole battery that I do with everybody that sort of makes a claim that at least they\u2019re telling me that you made in this situation. And if he\u2019s not comfortable doing that, then we pull the fight and we move on. It\u2019s very simple.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201c\u2026 I can\u2019t ever be in a situation where 10 years from now, I\u2019ve got a guy that\u2019s drooling on himself in a hospital, and I\u2019ve got another guy saying, \u2018Yeah, we told the UFC before his last fight that he was having all these issues and they put him in there anyway.&#8217;\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Joshua Fabia acknowledged Campbell&#8217;s request ending the call with the following message.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe\u2019ll jump through whatever hoops you need,\u201d<\/em> Fabia said. <em>\u201cDiego is 100 percent fine, as he is here with me right now. He\u2019s fine, man.
