Anthony Johnson has fought a who’s who of tough opponents throughout his career. But he expects his next to be the most dangerous.<\/p>\n

Set to make his Bellator MMA debut on May 7 as part of the light heavyweight Grand Prix at Bellator 258, “Rumble” squares off with a fellow former multi-time UFC title challenger. It’s “Rumble” vs. the “Soldier of God,” Yoel Romero<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cBesides some of my training partners, yeah, I give Yoel that title,\u201d Johnson said of Romero on Wednesday during the Bellator 258 media day (h\/t MMA Fighting<\/a>). \u201cThat I can think of right now, Yoel is the most dangerous fighter I\u2019ve actually faced, I think.\u201d<\/p>\n

In April, the opening round of the tournament was decided as Corey Anderson along with heavyweight champion Ryan Bader and light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov advanced. Awaiting Johnson in his next bout if he is to get past Romero will be the champion in Nemkov.<\/p>\n

At a time, Johnson was slated to face Jon Jones\u2014a man many would consider his toughest task\u2014for his first career UFC title opportunity. Instead, Daniel Cormier slid into that spot after Jones’ legal troubles. As a result, Cormier wound up being the only man to have defeated Johnson at 205-pounds (10-2 in the division, 22-6 overall) and that remains true today.<\/p>\n

Because of the danger of his upcoming challenge, “Rumble” is fully focused on what’s right in front of him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t thought that far ahead,\u201d Anthony Johnson said of the tournament. \u201cI\u2019m focused on Yoel. If I look past him one time, I\u2019m done. I can\u2019t look past him. I haven\u2019t thought about Corey, I haven\u2019t thought about Bader, I haven\u2019t thought about Nemkov. I\u2019ve thought about Yoel.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut you know what, I feel I\u2019m fighting Jon Jones regardless. I\u2019ve got to fight Yoel and everybody else in the weight class is right up there, too. I got my hands full.
