In the end, it was Velasquez who was able to grind out the unanimous decision win that ensured she was the one who walked away as champion.<\/p>\n<p>During her post-fight press conference, Macfarlane was incredibly honest in discussing her emotions and how much pressure comes with holding the belt for so long.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">All class from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ilimanator?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@ilimanator<\/a> after <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Bellator254?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Bellator254<\/a> &#x1f44f;<\/p>\n<p>The pressures of being not only a champ but an undefeated champ are real. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/4JsrOsynKQ\">pic.twitter.com\/4JsrOsynKQ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Drake Riggs (@DrakeRiggs_) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DrakeRiggs_\/status\/1337281188210216962?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 11, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, no this is cool,&#8221; Macfarlane said. &#8220;Honestly this is, in a really weird way, this is kind of always what I felt like I needed in my career. You can\u2019t always just keep winning and excelling, you know? You have to hit some type of plateau or something. I\u2019m actually really happy that this happened, or I\u2019m like relieved, that \u2018okay, this is what it feels like to lose.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cYeah I suppose [it\u2019s an odd feeling],&#8221; Macfarlane continued. &#8220;Like I always say going into all of my fights \u2018I\u2019m gonna lose this fight, I\u2019m gonna lose this fight\u2019 and then it actually happens and I\u2019m like \u2018oh f***, okay. I really lost this fight\u2019. But I\u2019ve always thought that how you respond to any adversity really makes you.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">&#8220;I\u2019m good, I\u2019m so good right now,&#8221; Macfarlane concluded. &#8220;I feel more bad for my fianc\u00e9 that he had to watch me get all bloodied up\u2014this is his first fight that he\u2019s ever watched! So sorry babe, but I promise I\u2019m okay, mom, dad, I\u2019m okay. These are tears of relief. It\u2019s hard being the champion, it is. It\u2019s hard being it for so long.
