The bout will mark his opportunity to rebound from a TKO loss to Justin Gaethje, which marked the end of an incredible, 12-fight win-streak.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the media ahead of his fight with Oliveira, Ferguson lamented the fact that, even after 12-straight victories, he never got the opportunity to fight for the undisputed lightweight title. After that disappointment, he seems somewhat pessimistic about ever receiving the opportunity.<\/p>\n<p id=\"M6YsBp\">\u201cThat title\u2019s a wet dream,\u201d Ferguson said (via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmafighting.com\/2020\/12\/9\/22166709\/tony-ferguson-vents-on-fighting-for-ufc-gold-lack-of-opponents-somebody-was-f-cking-lying\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MMA Fighting<\/a>). \u201cLike that Farmer\u2019s Insurance commercial, \u2018You almost got it, keep it going, we\u2019re just going to keep dangling it in front of you.\u2019 I don\u2019t know what the problem is. I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s because I\u2019m Mexican. I\u2019m an American with Mexican parts. 12 fight win streak, eight years in the making before women\u2019s sports were even in [the UFC]. Conor [McGregor] was on welfare. All these different things and I still didn\u2019t earn a title shot.<\/p>\n<p id=\"0tBeeK\">\u201cBut I\u2019m still sitting saying f**k the free world, just like Eminem,&#8221; Ferguson added. &#8220;The most naked I\u2019ve ever been my whole entire life. I\u2019m still here. I\u2019m still waiting. I\u2019ve got the belt in my room. I could go after another belt but how much greed is that? I\u2019ve got an Ultimate Fighter trophy. I\u2019ve got a [Fighter\u2019s Only] trophy. I\u2019ve got a UFC belt. I\u2019ve got medals and I\u2019m Lord of the Rings with all my championship rings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Ferguson seems excited to get back into the cage, that excitement seems to come with a side of disappointment with the way his UFC career has gone so far.<\/p>\n<p id=\"t4K9Fk\">\u201cThis is where we\u2019re at today at UFC 256 \u2013 I\u2019m the co-main event,\u201d Ferguson said. \u201cNobody spoke up for me to get a title fight. A 12-fight win streak.<\/p>\n<p id=\"4xYwhV\">\u201cWhat did I do wrong? Step on somebody\u2019s toes? Did I speak up for myself? That was so bad right?
