This victory separated him from a pair of stoppage losses\u2014a knockout at the hands of Jorge Masvidal, and a submission setback against Tyron Woodley\u2014that put an end to his run in the UFC welterweight division.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Whittaker, on the other hand, has not fought since October, when he was knocked out by Israel Adesanya in a fight that marked the end of his reign as the UFC middleweight champion. Prior to that, Whittaker was riding back-to-back decision wins over the fearsome Yoel Romero.<\/p>\n<p>Before he accepted this fight with Till, Whittaker took <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/ufc\/robert-whittaker-opens-up-on-hiatus-shuts-down-rumors-of-sick-kids\/\">an extended break from competition<\/a>, citing a feeling of being &#8220;completely burnt out.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have no idea where that came from,\u201d Whittaker told<em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailytelegraph.com.au\/sport\/ufc-2020-robert-whittaker-breaks-silence-on-ufc-absence\/news-story\/7e306d4a813b262d76b612dedfb83b7e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Daily Telegraph.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring the break, I got off all social media to spend time with family, so it was my old man who actually contacted me, explaining there was this crazy rumor going around, and from there, it just got a life of its own,&#8221; Whittaker said. &#8220;But my kids were all fine. They are fine. It was me who had the issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just wasn\u2019t myself.
