Former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo has recently been calling for a featherweight title shot. UFC President Dana White isn’t interested.<\/p>\n
Cejudo, who previously held the UFC bantamweight and featherweight straps, retired last month after a TKO victory over Dominick Cruz.<\/p>\n
While his retirement does no appear to have been a bluff, Cejudo has conceded<\/a> that he’d return to action for the right opportunities, such as a boxing match with Ryan Garcia or a featherweight title fight with reigning champion Alexander Volkanovski.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve done everything in MMA,\u201d Cejudo told TMZ recently. \u201cI\u2019m satisfied with my career. There would only be one fight that would really bring me back, that would really wake me up in the morning. That\u2019s against other than Ryan Garcia, that would be Alexander Volkanovski, that overgrown midget… I would love to make him bend the knee. He\u2019s already halfway there.<\/p>\n \u201cI want a third title because I want to be different,\u201d Cejudo added. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of champ-champs. Obviously, there\u2019s only one \u2018Triple C.\u2019 There\u2019s only one Olympic champ, flyweight champ, bantamweight champion of the world but it\u2019s just to cement it and go in the history books as the greatest mixed martial artist of all-time.\u201d<\/p>\n During last weekend’s UFC on ESPN 11 card, Cejudo once again alluded to a move to the featherweight division. At the culmination of the card’s thrilling Josh Emmett vs. Shane Burgos fight, Cejudo referred to the featherweight division as his division.<\/p>\n Fight of the year candidate.
