The pair have fought twice previously, with Cormier winning the first fight by first-round knockout, and Miocic reclaiming the title with a fourth-round TKO in the rematch. Ever since, there&#8217;s been a desire to see them settle their score. Cormier has also made it clear that the trilogy fight will be the last fight of his career.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, Miocic, who moonlights as a firefighter, has his hands full with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. He&#8217;s also expressed reluctance to commit to a fight when most <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/ufc\/daniel-cormier-suggests-solution-to-get-stipe-miocic-back-to-training-for-rematch\/\">gyms are still currently closed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The champ&#8217;s reluctance to rush back into a fight with Cormier has led to some criticism. He feels that criticism is unwarranted.<\/p>\n<p id=\"7s5Vou\">\u201cI don\u2019t know what people want from me really,\u201d Miocic told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmafighting.com\/2020\/5\/22\/21265950\/ufc-champion-stipe-miocic-tells-daniel-cormier-and-other-critics-to-stop-crying\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MMA Fighting<\/a>. \u201cEveryone\u2019s like \u2018he\u2019s holding the division\u2019 and I\u2019m like how am I holding up the division? Other guys are saying \u2018we can train.\u2019 Well, good for you. You live in a different state, you have different regulations.<\/p>\n<p id=\"Y9ruEw\">\u201cMy coach, no joke, shut his gym down. He wasn\u2019t taking any dudes, no one\u2019s paying anything cause it\u2019s not fair to everyone. They had a bunch of stuff outside the gym and a couple people, like five or six people were working out together, they were even six feet apart and someone saw that and reported it and he got cited by the CDC. That\u2019s how strict they are. So everyone can just shut up cause they\u2019re idiots.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Miocic continued, sending a firm message to his growing hoard of naysayers\u2014and Cormier, who has been attempting to lure him back to the cage.<\/p>\n<p id=\"AFeAZp\">\u201cI don\u2019t care. I really don\u2019t care what his opinion is. Never did,\u201d Miocic said about Cormier. \u201cHonestly, he says one thing and then contradicts himself all the time.<\/p>\n<p id=\"vrQEBf\">\u201cApparently I\u2019m not a champ,&#8221; Miocic added. &#8220;He just calls his own shots. Whatever. Everyone else is talking. Saying vacate or defend. Whatever, I can\u2019t make everybody happy or anybody happy. I don\u2019t care at this point.
