That was of course due to the fact that &#8216;El Cucuy&#8217; entered UFC 249 on a twelve-fight win streak.<\/p>\n<p>Against the odds &#8216;The Highlight&#8217; was able to deliver the greatest <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/tony-ferguson\/pros-react-to-justin-gaethje-defeating-tony-ferguson-at-ufc-249\/\">performance<\/a> of his career last night in Jacksonville. Gaethje landed a plethora of significant strikes on Ferguson before the bout was ultimately waved off by the referee in round five.<\/p>\n<p>As seen in the photos below (the latter courtesy of @MMAgonewild on Twitter), Tony Ferguson took a ton of facial damage in his fight with Justin Gaethje.<\/p>\n<p>Before UFC 249:<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/TonyFergusonXT\/status\/1257587227216969728<\/p>\n<p>After UFC 249:<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/MMAgonewild\/status\/1259569988756594689<\/p>\n<p>It was later revealed by UFC President Dana White that Tony Ferguson had suffered an orbital fracture in last night&#8217;s main event.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;El Cucuy&#8217; shared his thoughts on the loss to Justin Gaethje during his UFC 249 post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMan it\u2019s been a long f*cking camp, I\u2019ll be real. We\u2019ve been preparing since November. Obviously the 18th didn\u2019t fall through with Khabib. Obviously Justin (Gaethje) was the only one who wanted to sign on the dotted line. Just a long camp and the weigh cut had nothing to do with it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tony Ferguson continued:<\/p>\n<p>\u201dJustin Gaethje is a tough son of a bitch. I&#8217;ll be real.
