Last May, Lewis-Parry got into a shouting contest at an autograph signing by Jones in the UK before security removed him from the situation. <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/ufc\/chi-lewis-parry-explains-beef-with-jon-jones\/\">He later explained that his beef with Jones dated back to when Lewis-Parry was a member of Daniel Cormier&#8217;s training camp before the Jones rematch<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking recently on <a href=\"https:\/\/podcasts.apple.com\/gb\/podcast\/people-i-want-to-be-friends-with\/id1477169129\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Andy Shepherd&#8217;s podcast<\/a>, Lewis-Parry was asked if he was still interested in fighting Jones. While Lewis-Parry said he would fight Jones if he was offered the fight, he took the high road on the podcast and said that he would be willing to reach out to Jones and give him some life advice as the champ continues to struggle with personal demons. Lewis-Parry said if Jones apologized to him, he&#8217;d gladly give him a helping hand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOh, 100 percent. Because if you\u2019re humble enough that you can approach me and say, \u2018Do you know what? It was a bit effed-up what I did, what I said. I apologize. But you don\u2019t understand the life that I live. I\u2019m constantly under scrutiny, under pressure. I\u2019ve got this fame and this access to all of these vices.\u2019 I can say, \u2018You know what? I don\u2019t understand that, because I don\u2019t have that. But maybe manage the way you talk to people. And I would say \u2018cool.\u2019 Because, in the initial instance, I didn\u2019t have a problem with the guy. I didn\u2019t even know him. He brought me into this,\u201d Lewis-Parry said (via <a href=\"https:\/\/mmajunkie.usatoday.com\/2020\/04\/ufc-chi-lewis-parry-discusses-jon-jones-character\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MMAjunkie.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo if the guy can hold his hands up and say, \u2018I was wrong. Have you got any advice?\u2019 Or \u2018Can you recommend anything?\u2019 Or \u2018Do you know anybody that can help?\u2019 No problem, mate. Because I don\u2019t hate anybody. I don\u2019t hold on to hate. But you\u2019re not going to mug me off. I\u2019m not going to have that. It\u2019s a respect thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s nice to see Lewis-Parry extend an olive branch to Jones just weeks after the UFC light heavyweight champion was arrested on DWI and gun charges. In the meantime, Lewis-Parry will continue to field offers from other promotions.
