That being said, Nurmagomedov has authored lopsided victories over some of the best strikers in the history of the UFC lightweight division, including Conor McGregor and Edson Barboza. He&#8217;s also dominated solid strikers like Michael Johnson, Al Iaquinta and Rafael dos Anjos.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the scale of the task in front of him Dustin Poirier is determined to make history as the first man to beat Khabib Nurmagomedov \u2014 and as the new, undisputed lightweight champ.<\/p>\n<p id=\"lJkHmK\">\u201cThis is going to start the reign,\u201d Poirier told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmafighting.com\/2019\/9\/1\/20835554\/dustin-poirier-if-i-go-out-there-and-stop-khabib-im-the-best-lightweight-fighter-in-history\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MMA Fighting <\/a>recently. \u201cThis is the fight that gives me the undisputed title.
