The bout went the distance and delivered hard-hitting action with both men delivering a barrage of power shots. In the end, it was Costa who walked out of the Honda Center with the <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/ufc\/ufc-241-results-paulo-costa-defeats-yoel-romero-highlights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">unanimous decision win<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In a new video posted on Grange TV, Whittaker discussed Romero&#8217;s outing against Costa (via <a href=\"https:\/\/thebodylockmma.com\/ufc\/robert-whittaker-reflects-on-yoel-romeros-ufc-241-loss-to-paulo-costa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Body Lock<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe looked like a fighter that doesn\u2019t listen to anyone but himself,\u201d Whittaker said. \u201cHe just did whatever he wanted to do. He just did whatever he felt he wanted to do. He didn\u2019t follow the game plan that was made for him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny other coach would have been like \u2018keep his back to the fence. He\u2019s gassed, he\u2019s got nowhere to go.\u2019 You know what I mean? I\u2019m sure he just didn\u2019t follow advice and just did his own thing because his coaches have said that before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whittaker, who holds two victories over Romero, says Romero may have been discouraged once he realized that Costa wasn&#8217;t going to crumble.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think Romero got [disheartened],\u201d Whittaker added. \u201cWhen he landed those bombs on Costa and Costa didn\u2019t go anywhere, he was like \u2018oh no.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Costa <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/ufc\/georges-st-pierre-believes-paulo-costa-has-earned-middleweight-title-shot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">may now be in prime position<\/a> to take on the winner of Whittaker vs. Israel Adesanya. Whittaker&#8217;s bout with &#8220;The Last Stylebender&#8221; will be a title unification fight.
