Ever since Amanda Nunes knocked out Cris Cyborg in under a minute at UFC 232<\/a>, many thought an immediate rematch would have to be next. Yet, that is not the case as at UFC 240, the Brazilian legend will take on Felicia Spencer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to UFC president, Dana White, he says Cyborg was scared to take the rematch<\/a> and is afraid of losing. Speaking to TMZ Sports, he had this to say about a potential rematch.<\/p>\n

\u201c(Nunes) wants the Cyborg fight, but I don\u2019t think Cyborg wants that fight,\u201d White said. \u201cI think it\u2019s pretty obvious why she wouldn\u2019t want that fight. It\u2019s not a good fight for her. It\u2019s a bad fight for her. I don\u2019t think she\u2019s afraid. She\u2019s been fighting for a long time. But I think that she\u2019s at the point where she\u2019s afraid to lose again. Losing again isn\u2019t something she\u2019s interested in. Amanda wants it, we want it, but Cyborg doesn\u2019t want it.”<\/p>\n

Now, Cris Cyborg went on TMZ Sports<\/a> and says she is not surprised Dana White is saying that, but makes it clear she is the one who fights, not White.<\/p>\n

“You think I\u2019m surprised when Dana says things like this? I\u2019m not,\u201d Cyborg said. \u201cI\u2019m gonna be surprised if Dana White says something nice for me. It\u2019s not new for me. And just challenge, I go over there and do my best. “Dana White\u2019s never stepped in the cage. He never fight before, he doesn\u2019t know the fighter life because he\u2019s the promoter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although she isn’t surprised, Cris Cyborg says she won’t comment on a potential rematch with Nunes until after her fight. She is focusing on her bout and is a free agent<\/a> after it so has to weigh her options.<\/p>\n

\u201cI fight Saturday and after Saturday, for sure I\u2019m going to ask any question the media has for me,” she added. “I think I have to it a step at a time, focus now on Saturday, my next fight, and my fans know who I am. My fans know if I\u2019m scared. I\u2019m going to [get through this fight] and then talk to media.\u201d<\/p>\n
