From the looks of it, that return will have to wait, as the Irish MMA star has sustained an arm injury.<\/p>\n<p>McGregor announced this setback, which he implied is the result of &#8216;intense training and sparring sessions&#8217; in a Friday afternoon post to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Bx2bVJ8Iw1q\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">his official Instagram account.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/Bx2bVJ8Iw1q\/<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Intense training and sparring sessions, I will always push it to the limits,&#8221; McGregor wrote in his post. This comes off and I push on! The Proper Don! Nothing will stop me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Prior to this injury, Conor McGregor did not have a fight booked, and was <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/ufc\/ufc-moving-on-without-conor-mcgregor\/\">looking fairly short on options<\/a> as most of the UFC&#8217;s top lightweights are currently indisposed.<\/p>\n<p>That being said, former World Series of Fighting lightweight champion Justin Gaethje is currently without a dance partner, and recently <a href=\"http:\/\/staging.tcpcharms.com\/bjpenn\/mma-news\/ufc\/justin-gaethje-calls-for-fight-with-conor-mcgregor\/\">called for a showdown with the Irishman.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m ranked No. 5 right now,\u201d he told ESPN, calling for a matchup with Conor McGregor. \u201cThere are four guys and the champion in front of me. I\u2019m looking for one of those guys, and I\u2019m looking for a big fight this summer. I don\u2019t want to fight guys ranked behind me. I\u2019ve got two knockouts in a row. James Vick was ranked behind me. I feel I deserve someone in front of me\u2026 Looking at the landscape, Conor McGregor is No. 3 right now. If it\u2019s not him, there\u2019s not an open fight right now. So, that\u2019s the fight I want. He\u2019s No. 3. If he\u2019s not going to fight, take him out of the rankings.
