We learned a lot from last weekend’s 13-fight card from Southeastern Florida. Let’s take a deeper look at the fighters who did themselves the biggest favors over the weekend in Florida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jim Miller With A Big Win<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Don’t look now but Jim Miller has won two of his last three fights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In typical Miller brothers fashion, he got a hold of his opponent Jason Gonzalez’s back, and it was a wrap. 2:12 is all the accomplished UFC veteran needed to seal the deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his post-fight interview, Miller hinted at having one more run left in him. At 35 years old a title run is not out of the realm of possibly. Just ask the next person on this list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glover Teixeira Turns Back the Clock<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Most pundits that picked Glover Teixeira to beat Ion Cutelaba agreed that the Brazilian would have to weather the early storm of “The Hulk”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those experts were essentially right on the money as Teixeira managed to recover from some early damage and in the second round he took Cutelaba down to the mat, where he locked up a submission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the win, the 39-year-old has gotten his hand raised in four out of his last six outings dating back to the beginning of 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mike Perry Is Back<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps no fighter on last weekend’s UFC Fort Lauderdale card needed to get their hand raised more than “Platinum” Mike Perry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perry took home a unanimous decision win over Alex Oliveira and in the process earned an extra $50,000 Performance of the Night<\/a> bonus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What’s next for Perry? While timing is everything in mixed martial arts, it only seems logical to finally book Perry vs. Darren Till so they can settle their long-standing rivalry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A New Middleweight Contender<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

UFC Fort Lauderdale provided us with a new middleweight contender. Enter Jack Hermansson. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hermansson has been steamrolling through the 185-pound division. He has won four straight and 15 of 17 since 2014. “The Joker” could easily take Jacare’s No. 4 ranking when the new UFC ranking come out this week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A sane person might consider taking some time off after UFC Fort Lauderdale, but Hermansson will likely be back at the gym by the time you read this. All things considered, there are a couple of very high profile middleweight title fights for him on the horizon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
