Jon Jones’ potential move up to heavyweight may be happening sooner than anticipated. If he does move up, the fight that is expected to take place will pit “Bones” against Stipe Miocic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The rumors first started when ESPN analyst and Bellator fighter, Chael Sonnen mentioned the two possibly fighting each other this July<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cStipe Miocic, who has kind of been sitting out and playing hardball, all of a sudden is willing to come to the table for Jon Jones?” Sonnen said. “That\u2019s compelling as hell to me.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cAnd it does serve the purpose of setting somebody big up for Daniel [Cormier] because whoever comes out of that fight \u2013 people are going to say \u2018I want to see you take on Daniel.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Soon after that, Jones posted on Twitter that he is down for a scrap with the former UFC heavyweight kingpin. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
