The good news is that it sounds like they’ll get the chance to settle their differences in the cage very soon, and when that time comes, Kamaru Usman is promising some serious comeuppance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n “The Nigerian Nightmare,” sent an intense threat in the direction of Colby Covington on a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cPart of what this next fight symbolizes to me, is the attitude that a lot of people have towards immigrants,\u201d Usman told the UFC commentator Joe Rogan. \u201cA lot of people forget that Americans are immigrants. People are forgetting that, to where people have this attitude, \u2018We\u2019re Americans, go back to your country. Go back. This is a free country.\u2019 I always heard that growing up. I always heard that. The more I research it\u2019s like, \u2018What? What are you talking about\u2019 This whole attitude. <\/p>\n\n\n\n “When you walk into a nail shop to get your hands and feet and nails done \u2013 who are the majority of the people who run those nail shops? Asians. I\u2019m not saying all of them in the country, but a majority of them are Asians. But there\u2019s a whole bunch of people who look down on them like, \u2018I\u2019m not washing your feet. I\u2019m not going to do your nails.\u2019 Those people do that because they take pride in that, it helps them. They do that. That\u2019s not a job people want to do it. When you go to hotels, who are the maids who work at most of those hotels? A lot of them are immigrants. We take pride in that because we\u2019re in a better place and want to provide for our families. Those are jobs a lot of people, the so-called \u2018Americans,\u2019 the whole Colby Covington persona are like, \u2018I\u2019m above that.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n Kamaru Usman continued:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThat\u2019s the persona. But at the same time people want to cry, \u2018They\u2019re talking our jobs, let\u2019s build a wall, let\u2019s keep them out, they\u2019re taking our jobs.\u2019 No, they\u2019re providing, they\u2019re helping this country get to its height. The fact you can come here and have someone do your nails, have someone clean your house, someone wash your car, someone do all this for you, is part of what makes America so great. One of the greatest nations in the world. The fact they want to build a wall, they want to keep these people out, \u2018you can\u2019t come here, you can\u2019t bring your culture.\u2019 It saddens me and it upsets me. Its part of when this fight happens, this fight represents for me, because I feel like this is the attitude this young man has. He\u2019s entitled to, \u2018I should be UFC champ, you\u2019re a soy boy, you can\u2019t handle me boy.\u2019 That\u2019s his attitude, \u2018You can\u2019t do this boy.\u2019 First of all, who\u2019s your boy? I\u2019m a grown ass man. Don\u2019t (expletive) talk to me like that. That\u2019s the attitude he has.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHe\u2019s entitled to this: \u2018I should be the champion, I\u2019m American.\u2019 Bro, we\u2019re all American here. This fight is greater than just a guy who is talking (expletive). This fight means a lot to me. So when I get the chance to put my hands on this guy, just know that it\u2019s the wrath of every immigrant in this country that I\u2019m going to put on him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Needless to say, this is more than just another fight for Kamaru Usman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI haven\u2019t been in a fight yet where it was malicious, where I was maliciously trying to hurt someone,\u201d Usman said. \u201cI haven\u2019t been in that fight. My mind is strong. I don\u2019t compete, \u2018Oh, I want to kill this guy.\u2019 Then you swing five punches and miss and you\u2019re dead tired. I don\u2019t compete like that. This one, I\u2019m still going to compete like myself, but there\u2019s a little extra, \u2018Oomph\u2019 behind those elbows now. I\u2019m going to filet your face.
