They thought, out of an abundance of caution, let\u2019s let Nevada know that this issue exists.<\/p>\n<p id=\"5MEMDC\">\u201cThat\u2019s all good, Nevada gets this. I talk with them, they\u2019re like, \u2018Whoa, this is concerning, but we don\u2019t see anything in our jurisdiction here, so I certainly hope that no subsequent tests show up positive because that could be an issue.\u2019 And sure enough, USADA collects a sample from Jon on 12\/9, they expedited the results because they knew a fight was coming up and they do that now when fights are close or the collections are done close to a fight, and here he pulses back up to between 60 and 80 picograms.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ooKlx6\">\u201cThere\u2019s some misconception out there,\u201d Novitzky continued. \u201c[The NAC] did not say this fight is absolutely not happening next week. In fact, they, I think, were understanding of these issues but said, \u2018Look, optically, this doesn\u2019t look great, and we feel that, out of an abundance of caution, that we need to have a public hearing and be very transparent about this, because this is some weird shit.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whatever the case, Jeff Novitzky assures that none of these recent drug tests have revealed levels of turinabol significant enough to be considered &#8220;performance-enhancing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p id=\"phyqbo\">\u201cLook, I\u2019m not an expert,\u201d Novitzky said. \u201cI don\u2019t profess to be. My background is in finance and accounting. I traced the money back in the old days, but I know who those experts are out there in the world, and these are them. They\u2019re, by putting these things in writing, putting their reputations on the line now and forever going forward. They\u2019re not going to do something like that because the UFC pays USADA to administer a program or because Jon Jones is a popular fighter and they want to see him fight this weekend. That\u2019s just not the way this world works. \u2026 Experts like this are very, very conservative when it comes to talking in absolutes like this. They don\u2019t normally do it.<\/p>\n<p id=\"Xj8E67\">\u201cThese experts said based on these low levels of picograms, there\u2019s no performance-enhancing benefit, and that\u2019s an important point,\u201d Novitzky continued. \u201cBecause if you would\u2019ve told UFC, \u2018Look, this is still remnants from a year-and-a-half ago, but we can\u2019t rule out that he\u2019s not getting a performance-enhancing benefit from it\u2019 \u2014 well, in that instance, I\u2019ll tell you and I stand by this, I would leave this company if somebody told me otherwise.
