On Saturday night, in the main event of UFC 229, UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov defended his title with a dominant, fourth-round submission win over former UFC lightweight and featherweight champ Conor McGregor. Unfortunately, that\u2019s not where the violence ended.<\/p>\n
Moments after the fight ended, Khabib Nurmagomedov leapt over the cage and attacked Conor McGregor\u2019s training partner Dillon Danis, which sparked a massive brawl between his and McGregor\u2019s teams. Punches were thrown by both sides, and several arrests were made.<\/p>\n
One of the people involved in this unfortunate skirmish was UFC featherweight\u00a0Zubaira Tukhugov.<\/p>\n
Because of his involvement in this ugly, post-fight brawl,\u00a0Tukhugov’s UFC Moncton scrap with Conor McGregor training partner Artem Lobov has now been cancelled. Worse still, the Khabib Nurmagomedov training partner might well lose his contract with the UFC, not to mention his chances of obtaining a Unite States visa in the future.<\/p>\n
Evidently undaunted by the fallout of this infamous UFC 229 post-fight brawl with Conor McGregor and his team,\u00a0Zubaira Tukhugov took to social media post-fight, where he bragged about ‘slapping’ the Irish megastar and assured that McGregor did not land any return fire on him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI slapped him as promised,\u201d said Zubaira Tukhugov (translation via Karim Zidan of Bloody Elbow<\/a>). \u201cI promised to make him answer for his words and I did.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cTell everyone who thinks I was hit, where? Where, nothing. Just this cop pushed me away, on the video, as if I was hit, in short. Not missed, was not even close.\u201d<\/p>\n Although Conor McGregor is not pressing charges against Khabib Nurmagomedov, Zubaira Tukhugov, and their compatriots, there could still be legal trouble in their future. And as Ryan Thomas of MMA-Today.com reports on Twitter, this would not be Tukhugov’s first brush with the law.
